- Class Vocabulary Notes - having the vocabulary down pat will give you more time to focus on answering the questions during an exam. View our Vocabulary Page
- Practice questions, sample tests posted online - See below. We re-cycle some of the questions, so make yourself familiar! Studying vocabulary has shown to improve test scores. For that reason my mentor insists the students practice vocabulary in class and take a vocabulary test before every unit test. Studying vocabulary, reading the textbook, and reviewing class notes for only 10 minutes a night improves test scores and lowers test anxiety!
Sample Vocabulary Test - Q1 Weather
The Unit Test consists of multiple choice questions and critical thinking BCRs. The format remains the same each quarter, and questions are often recycled from the practice test.
Sample Unit Test - Q1 Weather - Text-feature diagrams given out in class - A personal favorite. The keys to unlocking the science text are understanding the text features. These almost always prepare you with a deeper understanding of the main points. Re-creating the diagrams helps with analyzing their meaning and remembering it, and this is why we spend class time making these tools.
